Before you read this review, you should be aware that this is not in any way recording or mixing software. It is strictly audio editing and if that’s what you’re looking for then you’ve come to the right place because Sound Forge Pro 10 does it really well.
The interface is easy to familiarise with an intuitive although if you’re not careful it can get cluttered. You can have multiple tracks open at once, which is a quick and easy way of comparing your edits against old versions and immediately hearing the difference between tracks. Using this software you can enhance your audio, add effects and clean. For example, if you have voice recordings but your subject is being drowned out by background noise, just bring up the noise reduction tool and fix the problem with a few clicks of your mouse.
Pros: Real-time preview of any changes you make, preview window for clips including video makes finding exact points of audio a breeze,
Cons: We simply don’t understand why there isn’t a version of this for Mac users
